General Announcements - April 23, 2026
Memorial Garden Bricks: We are now taking orders for Memorial Garden Bricks. If you would like to purchase a brick in memory of a loved one to be installed this year in the memorial garden, please pick up an order form in the narthex or church office and return it no later than April 30th.
Assistance Needed: We have a church member that needs assistance twice a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) in the afternoon with getting home from his dialysis appointments from Chestertown to Centreville. If you are able to help please contact Barbara Galloway at 410-570-0037.
New Members Class: If you have been attending CMC for a while and are interested in becoming a member, we will be offering a New Members Class this Spring. Classes will be determined according to the schedule that works best for those in attendance. – New members will be received on Sunday, May 31st. Confirmation: We have 8 students and 2 adult chaperones attending the confirmation retreat this weekend. Please keep them in prayer. Confirmation Sunday will be held May 31st.
Ed Parry Scholarship (EPS) 2026: The EPS program assists active CMC high school graduates pursuing post-high school education. Interested graduates may pick up an application packet in the church office. Applications are due no later than May 1, 2026.
Methodist Women’s Scholarship 2026 – The Methodist Women’s scholarship application for 2026 is now available in the church office. Graduating Seniors must be an active CMC member. Applications are due no later than May 1, 2026.
Young At Heart Potluck: May 14 at 12:30pm Join us for a wonderful time of fellowship and food! Sign-up sheet is in the narthex.
Community Church Prayer: Please join us in praying for other churches in our area. We will lift up a church (some in our denomination and others that are not) in prayer during our worship service and in our intercessory prayer time and we want to encourage you to pray throughout the week. This week we will be praying for Mt. Vernon, Mt. Zion, and St. Daniels UMC.
Outreach Ministries
Food Pantry: We would like to thank the congregation for responding to our call for hams and turkey breasts to provide a special Easter dinner for our pantry clients. Your response was overwhelming and we were able to meet the needs of all 30 shoppers on the Wednesday before Easter. Special thanks to Barb and Donnie Galloway and Dick and Norma Coursey, who generously provided for multiple families. We continue to appreciate the many items donated each week to keep our shelves stocked and our neighbors fed. CMC Helping Hands: Attention CMC Congregation - Do you need assistance with tasks, such as changing light bulbs or smoke detector batteries? Need help with small electrical or construction problems? Need transportation to appointments or temporary meals while convalescing or being a caregiver? CMC Helping Hands is willing and able to assist. When your need arises, simply write your name, phone number and specific need on a card provided and drop in the Helping Hands box located on the table in the Narthex. Methodist Men: The Methodist Men will not meet for breakfast next week (April 22) because of the Chicken BBQ. We will meet the following week at Cracker Barrell in Stevensville (4/29). We will resume meeting for breakfast every Wednesday morning at 8:30am at the IHOP in Chester in May. All men are invited to join us.
Methodist Women: The Methodist Women meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 1:30 pm. All women of the church are welcome!

Sewing Ministry: Sewing ministry meets the second Wednesday of the month, 10:00 to 12:00, in the Red Room. You don't need to know how to sew because we ensure that everyone can help do something to complete what we are working on. Call Donna Ray, 301-452-4861 if you would like more information. Healing Service: 1st Sunday of each quarter – 7:00 P.M. (Prayer for healing will also be available during each Sunday service.

Learning and Growing Opportunities
Unpuzzled: A Bible study on the letter to the Ephesians begins Wednesdays April 8th at 1:30 and 7:30pm. Books cost $16.00.
Supernatural Bible Study: An 8-week study from the book “Supernatural: Experiencing the Power of God’s Kingdom” will begin on April 8. The book is $16.95. There will be two classes offered 12:15 P.M. and 6:15 P.M. Please sign up on the form in the Lobby.
Adult Sunday School Classes: Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM in Double Classroom led by Jerry Thomas, or 9:50 AM in the Pentecost Room, led by Janie Nickle.
Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s Fellowship: This group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the Pentecost room in the Sunday School wing. Open to all men.
Beauty for Ashes Women’s Fellowship: This group meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30pm in the Yellow Room. All ladies are welcome to join us.
Children’s Sunday School: 9:50 -10:50 AM. Kindergarten - 8th grade.
